Dee commenced her role at Staircase Constructions in April 2016. Her primary role is administration and she completes a combination of tasks daily that include dealing with customer enquiries, company finances and quoting of jobs. Dee connects our customers to our staff to ensure that everyone is at ease, and the paper trail behind the scenes is executed effectively and appropriately. Her days at Staircase are spent at the desk interacting with clients and employees. Dee attended school at North Geelong Secondary College and went on to do various courses at Gordon Institute of Tafe, KAL Multimedia, Degradi Institute of Design and LP Communications.
Dee has had prior involvement at Australia Post and has undergone courses in both Small Business and Retail. She then went on to run a small store for roughly 3 years, before accepting a job as a Cash Office/Administration Manager for a major Supermarket. In this workplace, she was able to deal with staffing, OH&S issues, food safety, their financials and general admin. Her next job involved a traineeship in multimedia for a registered training organisation. It was here that she learned to develop websites and was able to express her creative side through an array of multimedia tools. This industry allowed her to be part of team that created the first online training program using VoiP technology in Australia.
She claims that she became a ‘PC Dork,’ primarily focused on technical support to assist students with any issues. In this role, Dee was able to travel to various parts of Australia and market the product that she helped create. The platform that they had developed was awarded the Victorian Training Award for Innovation. In the span of 7 years, Dee worked her way up the ranks from a trainee to the multimedia manager. Dee was then offered a position at another registered training organisation in a managerial role, as the central hub of the organisation. This allowed her to collaborate all her attained skills over the previous years. She claims the best part of this working environment was assisting the multicultural communities and in this position, her people skills thrived. This job significantly developed her time management skills and leadership, which she maintained for the course of 5 years.
Dee’s ideal job would be to own her own business in a tropical setting making coffees and interacting with customers. In the present, she hopes to grow in her role and to continue learning and to become at ease with the day-to-day processes at Staircase Constructions. In her time spent away from the desk, Dee enjoys going to the gym and playing the violin, loving both music and classic cars. With the ability to possess a superpower she would want to have the capacity to remember and learn anything similar to the Limitless Movie and cannot go past a burger.
